Coming up on Labor Day weekend in Atlanta is one of the bigger Comic Conventions in the US. It is inside local hotels, 3 of which are connected and it is a lot of fun.
I have a few costumes and a pack of my friends who go ever year.
There is a parade on Saturday with cars from Movies/Shows/Comics that are sure to surprise and make any gear head happy. Ecto-1, Mad Max, Ninja Turtles and so on.

Update: I got a Hyatt room, so I will be in the thick of it constantly!

I was at Momocon earlier in the year, but I don’t have the contacts to get to Dragoncon.

I would go for the cosplay girls, but I’m 37 and would feel like a dirty old man (not that I’m denying it).

I am down for a half-assed quasi oppo-meet.
I am usually involved in helping corral the Thursday Kon Krawl (we wander around with giant hats and drink). I have a 2 foot tall Guinness hat, I am tough to lose in a crowd.

If I’m down on Thursday as I usually am, that might be good to organize contact. It’s unfortunate I haven’t been able to prep my Dalek and my Ranchero is still a year out from being able to ferry it down. I’d put UNIT livery on my Rover, but it doesn’t like 200 mile journeys.

Ha...alright. I get there Wed and stay till Tuesday.
Wed, I work on getting costumes finished and linking up with all my folks
Thursday, I get tickets early, plan my panels/events (some which don’t happen because drinking happens)
Friday and Saturday are busy with Costumes and photo shoots
Sunday is slower
Monday is super slow, but the last goodbyes and then the Alcohol Disposal party which is where you can really pickle your liver.
Look up the 2016 Dragoncon Kon Krawl on Facebook. Brandon is the usual organizer or another guy takes it over if Brandon is busy with his restaurant. Once we get the band together for that, I am in a kilt, a 2 foot tall 250th Anniv Guinness hat, and a dark blue shirt that says Lord Guinness on it (with some other stuff).

I’m in Wisconsin, I went to Momocon because I had a friend already driving in that direction, already with a hotel booked, etc. and I worked for her at her booth during the day.

You are in Annapolis too...now I’m worried. However, I don’t have children...so we can’t be clones.

Saturday is the day when everyone rolls out their best costumes. It will be wicked crowded.
Friday is more the casual costumes and drinking.
